Piedmont is a treasure trove of precious food and wines and the elegant little city of Cuneo has many of them.
In the surrounding area are produced, for instance, special wines such as the Alta Langa, Barbaresco and Nebbiolo and you can find the parfumed White Truffle of Alba, a dream to every chef.
The city centre preserves the large piazza Galimberti, which has the double size of Piazza San Marco in Venice, and 8 chilometers of porticoes build in three different times, from the Middle Age to the end of WWII.
The main streets are Corso Nizza, the best shopping street and Via Roma in the historical part, both with elegant caffees where you can taste the famous local speciality: Cuneesi al rhum chocolates.
These special chocolates are produces with the same recipe since 1923 and also Ernest Hemingway used to stop here and buy them.
To taste typical products, just choose one of the many restaurants and enjoy the local dishes made with rice, meet, truffle and hazelnuts.
Not to forget a glass of wine, red or white as you like.
