THE SWEET PANDORO, FROM VERONA TO THE WORLD

THE SWEET PANDORO, FROM VERONA TO THE WORLD

The Pandoro is the eternal rival of the Panettone, that everyone likes.

If Christmas in Milan means Panettone, in Verona it means Pandoro.

The original recipe of this cake was registered in October 1884 by the pastry chef Domenico Melegatti who enriched the old recipe of the Levà sweet, with butter and eggs.

To have a special shape and let the creation be unique, Melagatti asked the artist Angelo Dall’Oca Bianca, who invented the special mold with the star shape, still used today.

What do you prefer, Panettone or Pandoro? It doesn’t matter, because both of them are the perfect Italian symbol of Christmas time, famous and loved in every corner of the world.
