The Sicilian puppets represent the most real tradition, art and culture of Sicily.
This special kind of art, recounts the heroic gestures of antique personages such as Carlo Magno, who always fight in the name of justice.
The theater of the Sicilian Puppets is so important that, in 2008, was declared by the UNESCO, Masterpiece of the immaterial patrimony of the humanity.
The most important museums of Puppets are in Palermo and Catania, but there are many other precious collections such as , for instance, the one preserved in the Castle of Conti di Modica in Alcamo, a beautiful tourist destination famous for the long beach of white sand and for its special white wine called Alcamo Bianco, produced in the area, from the typical grape variety Catarratto.
