From Rome to Milan a stop at the market is a must

The markets are becoming more and more part of the tourist offer of each destination.

In the past the nobles of Europe travelling for the Grand Tour, used to bring with them items from home to maintain the same habits while staying in the Italian villas. Today the trend is completely different. Tourists want to experience, to live like a local, eat like a local and be part of the authentic soul of the place. This is the reason why, during a trip, the visit of local markets is really a must, especially the indoor food markets.  These are the perfect place to taste typical food with the original local ingredients but also to buy fruit, vegetable, meet, fish and food souvenirs.

Two of the best indoor food markets of Italy are the Mercato Centrale di Firenze in Florence and the Mercato Centrale Termini in Rome, at the main train station. And today there is the opening of another great market: the Mercato Centrale in Milan.
