CREMONA: THE GENIUS OF STRADIVARI AND THE SMELL OF TORRONE

Stradivari, the most famous luthier of the world, was born in Cremona in 1643.

During his life he made 1116 stringed instruments. 450 of them survived and are preserved in the most important museums all over the world and of course in the Violin Museum of Cremona.

The city still preserves many ateliers of violin makers that you can easly discover walking the charming  cobbled streets of the historic center.

The most important piazza is Piazza del Comune with the Cathedral, the Baptistry and the Torrazzo tower whose shape inspired the Torrone nougat, made with honey, toasted hazelnuts and egg white , since the 15th century.
